We're parents, caregivers, and community members who love this school and want it to be the best it can be, for every kid in it.
What We Do
How we invest in Chester
Every year, Chester School Council raises money and puts it straight back into this school. Here's what that has looked like:
- Field trips and school excursions
- Classroom supplies and teacher resources
- Guest speakers and in-school programs, including Science in the Classroom
- Sensory room resources
- Technology and sports equipment upgrades
- Food bank donations
- Community events: the Fun Fair and more
None of it happens without this community. If you want to be part of it, we'd love to have you.
Our Purpose
Chester School Council exists to strengthen the bond between families and the school, so that every child here has what they need to learn, grow, and belong.
How to Join
Three ways to be part of council
However much time you have to give, there's a place for you. Council has three levels of involvement:
General member
Anyone in the Chester community can attend meetings and volunteer for events throughout the year. No election, no commitment. Just show up.
Voting member Capped at 25
Commits to attending meetings and is able to vote on key council decisions. Voting members are elected each fall.
Executive member
A voting member who also takes on a specific role for council, from budget to communications to events. Voting members are elected each fall.
Nominations are open. To put your name forward as a voting member or for an executive seat, submit the online nomination form by Friday, September 25.
