Nominations for 2026/27 are open. To put your name forward for any of the roles below, submit the online nomination form by Friday, September 25.
Elected Roles
Executive committee
The executive committee keeps the council running. Here's what each role involves:
Chair
Oversee council meetings and act as the main point of contact with school administration.
Treasurer
Prepare the budget, and track and monitor spending and revenue across the year.
Secretary
Provide meeting minutes from each council meeting and keep the official record.
Communications
Manage the council's social media, website, and email updates to families.
Events
Develop event plans, including scheduling, layout, and resource management.
Fundraising
Identify potential donors, sponsors, and corporate partners for events and general fundraising needs.

Other roles
These roles take on a specific piece of council's work alongside the executive committee:
Advocacy
Lead the council's advocacy on issues affecting students and families, from the Ministry of Education to Metrolinx.
Pizza Lunch
Organize orders in advance, and coordinate day-of volunteers and delivery.
Gardening
Work with students, families, staff, and volunteers to plan and maintain garden spaces.
Webmaster
Keep the council website current: pages, schedules, calendars, and links.
Open to Everyone
General member
You don't need a role to be part of Chester School Council. Every parent, caregiver, and community member is welcome to attend meetings, vote on spending, and take part in discussions. Just show up.
Meetings run monthly, 6:30pm, in the Chester Elementary School library during the school year. The first meeting of 2026/27 is Wednesday, September 30.
