Welcome to December! The Chester School Council is pleased to share a few highlights from this fall:
- $7,800 in technology purchases for Chester Elementary School.
- A grant-funded, full-school experience of Roseneath Theatre’s Morgan’s Journey.
- Additional funding for school buses and class trip assistance.
- Additional funding for community outreach support.
- Two important volunteer roles filled: Metrolinx School Representative and Fun Fair Co-Leads.
Winterfest: Thursday, January 29th, 6:00–8:00pm in the Chester School Gym! Decorate cookies, get your face painted, enjoy pizza and popcorn, browse the bake sale, win raffle prizes, and join the colouring and craft stations. We need volunteers to make it a success, so please consider volunteering.
Fun Fair: Saturday, June 13th. We’re already working behind the scenes on the 2026 Fun Fair and would love the community’s help, so please consider a lead volunteer position so planning can get underway.
A few reminders: our next Pizza Lunch is Friday, December 12th (Thursday for two kindergarten classes), and a few more volunteers are still needed. Light Up the Holidays, our community donation drive, is open until December 31st via SchoolCash Online. And if your child has lost something, check the Lost & Found Corner next to Door 6, under the stairs.
